GOP Senate Could act on a Supreme Court Nomination in 2020

Mitch McConnell Senate leader point out that in next presidential election in 2020 may republican senate would take a nomination to the supreme court which is made by Donald Trump.

Also, remember that former President Barack Obama’s nomination blocked by McConnell in 2016.

In arguing McConnell said that voters should discuss this matter in that year’s election. Garland was not granted a hearing or a vote.

Fox News asked a question that “if the same logic applied in 2020”, “McConnell said, we’ll see if there is a vacancy in 2020. ”

After this, the Kentucky senator said that from 1880 this is a tradition that vacancy is not filled by a president in an election year – if the opposing party does not control the Senate.

McConnell also said that

“We stood up to the mob,” he said. “This has been an extraordinarily productive Congress.”

On CBS New’s, the majority leader also gives his prediction that in Nov mid-term elections,  The Republican base will hang on providing energy to Kavanaugh protest.  After releasing new CBS poll on Sunday suggested that states like Texas and Tennesee may have hurt by court battle.

On the same issue, when McConnel asked if Republican not walk against West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin now that he voted for Kavanaugh.
He added that “Manchin is still a Democrat and we are trying to control our majority”.

McConnell also added that he never punish Alaskan Republican Lisa Murkowski for her vote against on Kavanaugh.
McConnel said that the House and Senate will talk soon over a bill in which creating a new procedure for employees to make sexual harassment against lawmakers.
And in the end, he ends his discussion using these words

“That is something I know will get done before the end of the year,”
