WASHINGTON ( CNN ) – The US television network CNN on Monday posted footage showing one of the 15 suspects in the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi on October 2, wearing Khashoggi clothes and emerging from the back door of the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.

The US network said it obtained the footage taken by surveillance cameras (unidentified) from a prominent Turkish source, which is part of the evidence being examined by the official Turkish investigation into the incident.

CNN revealed that the man in the video was suspected of Mustapha al-Madani, who according to investigators is a member of the “battalion of murders sent from Riyadh to kill the Saudi journalist when he receives a document about his expected marriage.”

According to the images, the “civilian” suspect appeared when he entered the Saudi consulate through the door of his house about four hours before leaving through the back door, dressed in Khashoggi clothes.

The 57-year-old man, who resembles Khashoggi, 60, is tall and physically constructed and was sent to Istanbul to play the role of Khashoggi after he was killed, the network told the source.
It should be noted that the surveillance cameras took “civilian” clothing in Khashoggi clothes to the area of the famous Sultan Mosque (downtown Istanbul), hours after Khashoggi entered the consulate.
“We do not need a body,” the source said. “Our assessment of the incident has not changed since October 6, which is a premeditated murder, the body was taken from the consulate.”

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that his country is firm in the case of Khashoggi, and the details of the case will be revealed on Tuesday.

He said he would explain on Tuesday why 15 people came to Istanbul and arrested 18 in Riyadh.
Erdogan said he would reveal the details of the issue at a meeting of his party’s parliamentary bloc in the Turkish parliament.
